to The Virgin Mary
Upon reading the poem “The Virgin Mary by Rizal“, my understanding is that fear can be conquered by love even when it comes to loss and that the tough times can lead to the absolute freedom for us. The poem is a prayer-like poem when Rizal wrote this. He wrote the poem to tell the people/readers how our Mama Mary (Virgin Mary) who endured the suffering.
This is a representation of love and how it keeps us away from the temptation of anger and death. Sometimes the things that bother us mostly are the path to our freedom and growing. Appreciation for whatever we have is a powerful prayer.
If we can relate this poem in our daily lives. We should think of our mothers for they are the ones who do all the works, hardships, and challenges in life which they keep on pursuing because we are important to our mother.
As I read the poem Rizal wrote this poem to tell us how the Virgin Mary surpasses all of the sufferings she received during her time. He want to tell us not to give up on the sufferings we are facing because all of the sufferings or challenges are destined to be surpassed.
