POEM OF RIZAL
IN MEMORY OF MY TOWN
SA AKING MGA KABABATA
MY FIRST INSPIRATION
THROUGH EDUCATION THE COUNTRY RECEIVES LIGHT
THE INTIMATE ALLIANCE BETWEEN RELIGION AND GOOD EDUCATION
TO THE VIRGIN MARY
TO THE PHILIPPINE YOUTH
- Rizal spoke his childhood days in Calamba, Laguna. Rizal had the happiest and most beautiful memories of the place, the hospitality and friendliness as well as the industry of the people in Calamba. Those memories were influential in molding of his character and intelligence. A friendly reminiscence about his hometown and its natural surroundings including the lagoons, the lakes, river, he explored as a child. Upon reading it comes to my mind that a lot of people equates a happy childhood with the town and its environment and end with the wish that God would keep it innocence safe forever.

SA AKING MGA KABABATA
- This poem tries to awaken the filipino youth to love our country and respect people. At the age of eight he composed his first poem called Sa aking mga kababata or To my fellow children. I realized that If we really wholeheartedly embrace and love our own language, the nation will also surely pursue liberty. However, believed if we treasured and loved, used our mother tongue, it would become a symbol of relative freedom and of identity. He emphasize that if a man really love his country he must strive for freedom. It is clear thought of being a nationalist who wants to be free from spaniards. It also tells the significant role of the youth for the betterment of the country.

MY FIRST INSPIRATION
- It is about the love between a mother and a child. A mother os the first teacher and first inspiration for a child. Mother who had taken care of him and taught him a first letter. He wrote the poem because he missed her mother, it was his mothers birthday. A inspiration comes from very significant things, especially people in our lives. We should honor and value our family and let your parents be a role model or inspiration in your life.

THROUGH EDUCATION THE COUNTRY RECEIVES LIGHT
- Through Education Our Motherland Receives Light posits that a well-rounded education is the key to fixing problems in the Philippines and affecting positive social and political change. Rival employs personification throughout the poem, giving human qualities to the idea of education. Upon reading the poem tell us how important to every human that without education we cannot reach our goal in life. It is also one of the most effective way to make our country proud that no one can steal. One of the fervent love for our motherland education seems away from us to extend our deep and warm gratitude to every wonder and blessings that we are receiving everyday.
THE INTIMATE ALLIANCE BETWEEN RELIGION AND GOOD EDUCATION
- Education without religion is not education at all. Same with religion. Religion without education is pointless.Rizal shared his thought about the importance of education to enlighten the nation which was useful to gain societal freedom for every nation. It may also provide us the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to expand.Upon reading Rizal thought that there was really an intimate alliance between religion and good education. A man who was properly educated needed to apply what he learned on spiritual view rather than simply on material achievements.
TO THE VIRGIN MARY
- Rizal was a Marian devotee and even carved a statue of the Virgin Mary when he young boy. “To the Virgin Mary” is a sonnet that was said to have been written in December 3, 1876 while Rizal was studying in Ateneo. The meaning of the poem is love. Its meaning is that love can conquer fear, even when it comes to death and that the tough times can lead to the ultimate freedom. You can conquer almost any fear if you will only make up your mind to do so. For remember, fear doesn’t except in the mind.

TO THE PHILIPPINE YOUTH
- Rizal was idealistic and patriotic for the Philippines. He knew that the only capable of changing the future was the youth of the nation. Upon reading the article I realized that It tell us that we are the one of the existing hopes of our dear country and that through our abilities, we are capable of protecting its freedom against oppressive forces that may come through. Furthermore, its just like that we are responsible for preserving the Philippines as a nation not for the foreigners but for the rest of the filipino. It say that the youth of today are the hope of tomorrow.. We are the future. The country’s hope. He believed in us and so we must make it a reality. He wanted us to develop our talents and use them to help those who are in need.
